FOR AND AGAINTS ESSAY- Claudia Martin

FOR AND AGAINTS ESSAY

Nowadays, knowing two languages opens many doors since it allows you to communicate with people from other countries and have more than one language gives more possibilities to find many more jobs and more opportunities.

Knowing more than one language has many advantages. For example you can go to other places in the world and communicate with people and understand the language there also provides advantages at the educational level.

As a disadvantage, I don't think there is anything, since knowing something else is not bad, the only thing that may be bad is that since childhood we are forced, for example, to learn English and do English as a second language when for example some person You may not like that language and prefer to do another. And that in a way they force us to study in English as a second language instead of doing any other language or simply to choose what we want the second language we learn to be.

However having more than one language is a sure benefit despite the effort involved is a great long-term benefit

Opinion Essay Laia Orozco

Opinion Essay, Black Friday.
Long queues, misleading sales, a lot of money spent, fights to pick up the last product, a lot of stress, among others.
This is the black Friday.
In my opinion, the black Friday is pure consumerism.
Probably it will be real sales, but I think that many businesses, increase the prices one week/two weeks before, and when this season arrives, prices fall again, and even, it can be a little bit higher than the beginning.
As I see it, the black Friday is unnecessary, is the day we crush on people for things we don’t need, the day after being thankful for what we have, it's a little bit hypocrite.
It's too sad that we participate in this "business game" in the name of a holiday as if buying gifts was an ideal way to celebrate Christmas. But thankfully, there are a lot of people who are realizing how stressful it is for workers because they have to tolerate bad education of people. They throw the products of the shops on the grown, they treat employees badly, among many other reasons.
Instead of shopping on Black Friday, you can refuse to buy material items. Better, you can show your love, caring, and affection people you love is a matter to do it daily, not just on holidays,
To sum up, in spite of a lot of people goes shopping on Black Friday, I think it is another way that the business has for to deceive people, making them believe that they are shopping at lower prices, but it doesn't stop being another way to promote consumerism.

Option 1: OPINION ESSAY

Currently, the consumption of alcohol in Spain is the highest in all of Europe. In Spain, young people, in the last decade, begin to consume more and more young addictive substances, but alcohol and tobacco consumption is a responsible consumption although each time people start to consume earlier.

In my opinion I think that it is a consumption under the responsibility of each one, if you know how to control the intake of alcohol or tobacco they should not be prohibit it even though it has been harmful to health is a legal addiction , despite being illegal, they will continue to be consumed as other addictive substances.

Everything in large quantities is harmful, the important thing is to have a responsible consumption. These substances should remain legal only for people over 18 years. What the government could do is to be more persistent in the sale of alcohol and tobacco to people under 18 ,who in many places and establishments do not ask for ID or do not care if they are not 18.

From my point of view, I believe that these substances should not be prohibited, but that responsible consumption has to be controlled more.

Inés's covering email

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for a job with CAMP U.S. that I saw advertised in the local newspaper. I have attached a copy of my CV.

I am currently taking my final exams at Jesuïtes El Clot and I expect to achieve good marks because I am focused student. When I finish school, I want to study a university degree in social education in Imperial College London. Afterwards, I would like to work in social services because I want to help people and specifically in social exclusion or emergency centers, residences and flats. Due to this, I think that the job would be excellent experience of me.

At school, philosophy and citizenship are my favourites subjects because I believe coexistence is extremely important. Moreover, I take good marks in English because I go an academy to practice and in my free time, I watch American films in VOSE and I listen to music in English. In addition, I like to be with children and teach them arts like photography or maybe technology like computer programs.

I believe that my ability to get along with anyone and my experience in solving problems in a retail setting make me ideally suited for this job.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Daniela Fernández.

Dialogue - Itzel Rebatet

Two friends are discussing whether to watch a movie at the cinema or on the Megadede platform.

Damian: I think that watching a film in the cinema much better than watching it in the internet. Don't you think?

Kovu: Well, I'm not sure about that because if we stay here we don't have to pay anything at all. Also, we don't have to move.

Damian: Are you really that lazy? I can see your point there but if we see it in the computer we have to put up with seeing ads, interrupting the movie. It's true that seeing films in the internet is a lot cheaper but the quality of the sound and the image in the cinema is better.

Kovu: I'm not lazy, it's just that like that we could enjoy watching a film lying on the couch, very comfortable.

Damian: I agree with that but for that reason there are some cinema with sofas. It's just that you are very lazy to get out of the sofa, right?

Dialogue- Paula De la Osa

DIALOGUE/INTERVIEW

Ceci and Albert are two friends who have stayed at the home of the second to see the series of Riverdale.

Ceci: Albert, in which chapter we stayed at Paula's house?
Albert: In the fifth, although she continued to see it, she is already in the tenth. I hope she doesn't spoil us with any Tweet.
Ceci: I hope so. Well, come on, open Netflix and let's start.

5 minutes later...

Albert: Okay, well, we have a problem... The series doesn't appear in the Netflix menu, so I thought of seeing it by Megadede, which is free.
Ceci: But, can not you use the streaming subscription service that Paula uses? I see it more secure and, well... more legal.
Albert: I don't know which one she uses, besides, we don't have time to go looking, Megadede is the fastest and I have friends who have already used it.
Ceci: I don't know Albert, it doesn't seem very legal, besides, I would not like to see any virus on your laptop. And let's not talk about ads that have these kinds of pages, how to say it... they're a bit inappropriate.
Albert: Ceci, what do you think of this? Today we see it on this website, and the next day we buy the box set of the series and we see it. Do you think it's ok?
Ceci: Okay, but I think we should hire another legal streaming service instead of buying the box set.
Albert: We already have Netflix...
Ceci: Well, another one that has more series.

DIALOGUE/INTERVIEW

Samantha: I think that the online platforms such as Megadede are incredible and useful. What do you think about?

Adeline: Well, I don’t agree with you. I have to admit that is very useful, although I think that watching a film in the cinema is much better.

Samantha:Are you completely sure? Watching a film in the house is cheaper and you don’t have to move.

Adeline: Yes, I agree but in the cinema there aren’t any TV commercial during the film. There are at the beginning where they don’t bother the viewers, at least not all of them.  Don’t you think?

Samantha: I think so, depends on what you are going to see. There are some pages that don’t have ads.

Adeline: You might have a point but the quality in the cinema is better than in the computer. Don’t you think?
