Film Review - Paula De la Osa

21 BlackJack

21 blackjack is a film inspired by the book Bringing Down the House of Ben Mezrich, directed by Robert Luketic in 2008.
The story tells us how Ben, the main character played by Jim Sturgess, an excellent student, managed to get into Harvard, but since he doesn't have enough money he must get a scholarship. One day, a teacher of Ben noticed that he was very smart and decides to invite Ben to join a group of students who go to the casinos every weekend in Las Vegas to earn millions.
The truth is that this movie has disappointed me a bit and I don't recommend it, because the film was too long and slow to watch, it has many clichés and the ending is incredibly predictable. The only thing that I liked was how the card tricks have been explained, and even so I think there are things that have no logic in this, like the fact that nobody in the casinos realizes that they always sit to play together or that they have not noticed the obvious signs that are made between them.
